Bienvenue
In our final week before the winter break we will be exploring some traditions from Haiti, and creating our own fanal lantern. It will be a busy week with many activities throughout the school.
I am looking forward to January and the completion of our Je me presente unit. Friday last you should have received home your child's second set of marks for learning centres. Please take a look and if you have any questions about their progress, do feel free to contac tme. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a relaxing holiday break! A la prochaine! Mme

As we move towards our winter holiday break, we are starting to wrap up our work on our (very long!) Je me present unit. Students are showing great improvements in their knowledge and starting to independently apply what they have learned!
This week we will be doing some verb review based on student needs (irregular and double verb constructions), then will be doing a fun celebrity "guess who" speaking activity. Students will get to put their knowledge into action while they try to solve the riddle of which classmate is who! The intermediate dance is later this week, and therefore 2 or the intermediate classes will only have French 3 times this week. Because of this, the Guess who activity may wrap into next week. A la prochaine Mme Last week students worked on a skit where they practiced introductions in a more conversational setting. Much time was spent working on pronunciation of words and understanding of phrasing. These skits were presented today (Monday) and for 7C presentations will occur on Wednesday.
For the remainder of the week, students will be completing the work in the current centres as they will be handing this in on Thursday for evaluation. We will be taking a break from centres for the remainder of December to allow us to finish many of the small tasks remaining in our Unit. Our culminating task will occur in January, as this permits us sufficient time to do the neccesary research. This week we will also be practicing our listening skills by students hearing some descriptions of "famous" characters and trying to guess their identity. Students will also be reading and demonstrating their understanding through art. A la prochaine! Mme |
