What can my child do at home to improve their French?
There are a variety of websites that allow your child to practice their French skills at home. I would recommend the following:
http://french.about.com (A great reference for students and parents)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/french/ (another great reference)
http://www.digitaldialects.com/French.htm (french games)
http://www.fslhomeworktoolbox.ca/toolbox/toolbox.php (Ontario based French learning)
http://fslactivities.ca/kidsplayground/index.html (a variety of links to French games)
One of the most important things that your child can do to improve their French is to participate in class and to make an effort to speak in French! At home, French media (TV, Films, Radio) will help to improve fluency. As always, be sure that you are screening the content of the media which you are permitting your children to view.
Two great media resources:

http://www3.tfo.org (click on Enfance or Jeunesse)
There are also a variety of websites that we may occasionally use in class that provide spoken French words to match images, or French speaking and videos. Many of these are for beginners in French language.
